David Salami is the Co-founder and Engineer at Polytope Labs. David’s earlier role as a Senior Blockchain Engineer at Composable witnessed his pivotal contributions to Composable's cross-chain technology, Centauri. Prior to that, he leveraged his expertise at Webb as a Senior Blockchain Engineer, contributing to the DKG Substrate protocol and its Substrate runtime implementation.
David currently works as a lead engineer at Polytope Labs building interoperability infrastructure for multi-chain environments.
Unlike decentralization, bridge security isn't a spectrum; it's either secure or it isn't. Good engineering design includes preparing for all possibilities. A well-designed system should handle all invariants, but this basic engineering requirement is impossible to meet with trusted bridges. This is due to the main invariant being part of the protocol's design, making it impossible to pre-program the protocol to respond to a malicious takeover of its trusted authority set.
